#29 Together in Electric Dreams
Our Brides – Kate
Sometimes you just want to see a photo of a bride sitting on top of a bronze horse at one of the biggest stately homes in all the land, with a bridesmaid doubled over laughing in the foreground (see below!).
Kate had already looked for her dress in a whole bundle of boutiques in London. Then she found us just down the road from her venue, the one and only Chatsworth House. Her Jesus Peiro dress has pockets and everything.
The old place looks pretty decent on an August Bank Holiday weekend, doesn’t it? #Swoons
Congrats Kate and Richard! I smile every time I walk past that bronze horse because of you.

THE LOW-DOWN
How would you sum up the style of your wedding?
Classic with floral motifs.
Where and when did you tie the knot?
We were married at St Peter’s Church in Edensor in Derbyshire, with the wedding reception at Chatsworth House on 24th August 2019.
And what was your wedding dress?
6000 by Jesus Peiro.
THE LEAD-UP
How did you two first meet?
We met in London on Valentine’s Day in 2014.
What about the proposal? When, where, how?
In London, with friends and plenty of celebratory drinks.
THE DRESS
Did you have an idea of what you wanted when you first started looking for your wedding dress? And did you stick to it?
The focus for me was the fabric, the pleats and the detail.
How did you find the whole experience of searching for the right dress?
I’m not someone who likes a lot of fuss, so the idea of having assistance to try on dresses was completely out of my comfort zone! My experience at Alexandra Anne was relaxed and I found the whole experience enjoyable.
What was it about your dress that made it ‘the one’?
The Jesus Peiro 6000 dress had the detail and fabric I was looking for: simple and classic with a hint of sculpted detail.
How did you feel once you’d made the big decision?
Accomplished.
Do you have any top tips for other brides out there shopping for their bridal gown?
Be open-minded about the dress-buying process. Use the opportunity to try on lots of different dresses which you may not have originally considered.
THE BIG DAY
Tell us more about your outfit on the day. How did you complete your look?
I chose to accessorise my look with some heirloom antique diamond earrings and a long embroidered veil (Bala by Joyce Jackson).
And your bridesmaids?
They had a variation of the same fabric and dress, which I chose from ASOS.
What do you remember about the morning?
Being relaxed and hanging out with my bridesmaid.
Who did your hair and makeup?
Who took your wedding photos?
Shoot Photography. (You can read Shoot’s write-up of the day here.)
Did you follow any traditions? Or was there anything unusual about the ceremony?
It was pretty traditional on all accounts!
How did your dress feel when you were walking down the aisle?
Pretty damn good.
THE MEMORIES
What are your favourite memories of your wedding day?
The church service was so beautiful, and having all our family and friends together.
What gave you the biggest laugh?
So many to choose from, but the speeches were great.
What got the tears flowing?
Being with my mum and dad just before entering the church. They (among many people) had put in a great deal of effort and time to make it the best day possible for both of us.
If there was one piece of advice you could give to a new bride-to-be, what would it be?
Get an evening dress as well.
And last but not least, where is your wedding dress now?
Whilst I adore my wedding dress, it will be up for sale soon on Brides Do Good, with the proceeds going to the charity which helps protect vulnerable young girls from childhood marriages.
I hope my dress will be worn by a lucky bride who I hope will feel as special as I did on my wedding day.
