#4 Halter-Neck Heaven

Our Brides – Jo

We love the structured styling of Barcelona designer Jesus Peiro. And looking at how beautiful our bride Jo looks in her gown, can you blame us?! That halter neckline. That collar. That exquisite bow on the front. She’s a swoonerama. Serving up some serious Peiro-bow-mojo, if you will. Garry, you’re a lucky guy!

Here’s the full scoop on Jo’s Nottinghamshire wedding day to remember. If you’re seeking out a similar look to Jo’s flawless style, take a look at the Jesus Peiro bridal dresses we have in store, or book your fine self an appointment with us.

You go, Jo!

THE LOW-DOWN

How would you sum up the style of your wedding?

Relaxed elegance.

Where and when did you tie the knot?

At The Pumping House in Ollerton, Nottinghamshire (near Newark) on 8th February 2019.

And what was your wedding dress?

7019 by Jesus Peiro.

THE LEAD-UP

How did you two first meet?

He rescued me after a night out in Sheffield!

What about the proposal? When, where, how?

At West One in Sheffield, the place he first rescued me from! We had been sampling a few drinks!!

THE DRESS

Did you have an idea of what you wanted when you first started looking for your wedding dress? And did you stick to it?

I had no idea but wanted something different, ideally with sleeves so no I did not stick to it ☺.

How did you find the whole experience of searching for the right dress?

I found the wedding dress shopping experience a bit deflating until I stepped into Alexandra Anne and that’s when our dream wedding started to take shape.

What was it about your dress that made it ‘the one’?

It was just ‘me’, plain without being plain. I don’t do lace or beading so the huge bow and the neckline gave my dress the wow factor I needed.

How did you feel once you’d made the big decision?

Madly in love with my dress and Alexandra Anne: it’s such a beautiful place to buy your special dress.

I was so excited I couldn’t wait to wear the dress and for my hubby to see it.

Do you have any top tips for other brides out there shopping for their bridal gown?

Don’t have a fixed idea, be open minded, find the right boutique and trust the staff as they see so many different brides and styles of dresses they have a good idea what works!

THE BIG DAY

Tell us more about your outfit on the day. How did you complete your look?

I did have a fascinator made in case I felt I needed something extra… I really didn’t – I let the dress speak for itself.

And your bridesmaids?

They wore dresses by Sorella Vita. Although the service we received from them (not Alexandra Anne by the way!) was dreadful.

What do you remember about the morning of the wedding?

It went so fast but was perfect, surrounded by family and close friends at the venue.

Once I was dressed and ready (early!) I was so excited and couldn’t wait to marry my best friend and soulmate. The registrars said I was the only bride they had seen walk down the aisle early. I practically ran down the aisle ☺.

Who did your makeup?

My sister-in-law did my make-up (she works in beauty) and Emma from Dreamers did my hair.

Who took your wedding photos?

Shoot Wedding Photography and they were fab!

Did you follow any traditions? Or was there anything unusual about the ceremony?

We just tried to keep it simple.

How did your dress feel when you were walking down the aisle?

Fabulous.

THE MEMORIES

What are your favourite memories of your wedding day?

There are so many. Probably having our photographs taken outside and having a bit of time just for us.

Sitting together on our own table for the meal was very special: like we were in our own little bubble while surrounded by our family and friends – the perfect combination.

What gave you the biggest laugh?

The best man’s speech.

If there was one piece of advice you could give to a new bride-to-be, what would it be?

Enjoy every moment from the start of the planning to the very end. Try not to make it too perfect: you’re more likely to get the perfect day if you don’t stress about it in the run-up.

And last but not least, where is your wedding dress now?

Hanging up in the spare bedroom – it has been back on already and I felt just as fab in it.
