Where to eat in Hathersage

Now you are in the gorgeous Hathersage for a day of dress shopping we are on hand to advise on where to go!

We are coming up to a year in Hathersage after relocating from Bakewell last year, and I have definitly sampled the local eateries enough to give you the low down on where to go before or after your appointment with us.

1st up… David Mellor - The Riverside Kitchen
Set in the David Mellor design museum and shop, this gorgeous cafe- lives up to its designer surroundings, offering fresh, seasonal and healthy options to suit most tastes.

With Traffic lights in situ (they were designed by David Mellor) it is relaxed yet high quality and even boasts the perfect picky plate for those in need of somewhere child friendly.

No. 2 Colemans Deli

This place is dangerously close to us! It’s impossible to resist their amazing salad, tosties and of course coffee! A popular spot with walkers there maybe a wait but its a great relaxed bite to eat or cake & coffee debreif.

No. 3 The Bank House

Award winning pub grub and bar, boasting a fab apres ski tent area with a fire put in the winter. I have yet to try it but apparenlty their baked cookie dough desert is to die for...Inspired by the Mediterranean but proudly local, Bank House brings you great food and drink in an upbeat relaxed environment.

No.4 The Maynard

Jump in the car to get to this one, but a great stop if you are heading back Bakewell or Sheffield direction. As a popular wedding venue itself they have a varied pub menu with a simple ethos that it must be local, fresh and accessible (lots of Vegan, gluten free & veggie options).

Others worth a mention…

Maazi & Sangams: I am not picking a side with these two curry houses! Leaving the shop on a Saturday evening you are greated by a subtle waft of Indian spices. It never fails to make me want a curry. Accoring to locals both are great and with only 0.1 in it on google ratings it is up to you to decide!

And I have yet to sample Hathersage Kitchen by Evangelique and when it re-opens The George (currently closed at the time of writing- Jan 2024) but I'll save those for another blog when I’ve done some more dining out!
